The Displaced - Переселенці

In May 2022 I spent four days travelling in north west Germany and photographed a number of displaced Ukrainians. There are around 12 million displaced people due to the war in Ukraine, five million of which are spread through Europe and beyond. Each one of those numbers represents an individual tragedy. As of May 2022 Germany has registered in excess of 700k displaced Ukrainians ( latest figures for the same period here in the UK are 46k ) and despite the obvious challenges the state appears to be doing a good job.

У травні 2022 року я чотири дні подорожував північно-західною Німеччиною і сфотографував низку переміщених українців. Через війну в Україні переміщено близько 12 мільйонів людей, п’ятеро з яких поширюються по Європі та за її межами. Кожне з цих чисел символізує окрему трагедію. Станом на травень 2022 року Німеччина зареєструвала понад 700 тисяч біженців (останні дані у Великобританії становлять 46 тисяч), і, незважаючи на очевидні проблеми, держава, здається, добре працює.
